October 2008

October has been an interesting month for us here in the desert. It has been hot one day, cold the next and then hot again. The days are still hot now, but the nights are getting cold. the boys are adjusting fairly well. Joshua has been a little crabby lately due to his 4 year molars coming in. Jonathan is determined to prove he is just as big as his brothers. You can see him helping Daddy with the dishes. James is getting better at being a big helper and writing his name. Jeremy and I are doing fairly well and are very blessed to have each other.
As you can see in the pictures, We have a daredevil on our hands. Jonathan can climb up to the top bunk on his own, with no help. It was pretty quiet the other day so I went to see what the boys had gotten into and found Jonathan and Joshua on the top bunk of the bunkbeds. I wasn't really surprised since Jonathan had already tried climbing up there once when we were in the room with him. Boys are so much fun!
We sent off our formal application to adopt and are scheduled to take an adoption class this coming month that will start us on the way to, Lord willing, adopt our little girl. Please pray for us through this process. We are going as God leads, but it's still a little scary. Soon we'll have 4 monkeys running around the house :)

Trip to Joshua Tree National Park

Jeremy's parent's were able to drive down for a visit and we took them to Joshua Tree National Park. It was really pretty. God is helping me see the beauty in the desert. The sky here is gorgeously blue all the time. What a great painter our God is!

unpacking

The Lord blessed us with a good home and we are still in the process of unpacking. Here are some pics of that process ;)

Petrified forest pics

Here are some really cool pictures of the rock solid trees in the Petrified Forest. To me this just screams God's intervention. Intense pressure was needed to turn these logs into stone. Pressure from the flood, maybe?

Trip to California

Here are some pics of our trip to California from Texas. We stopped by the painted desert and the Petrified Forest and had a fun mini vacation. In one of the pictures you can see a rainstorm. Pretty wacky how it is so localized :)

Pictures on the way!

I finally downloaded all of the pictures from our camera onto our computer, so I will start to post some here. Jeremy is swamped at work and the boys are keeping me fairly busy, so life is pretty much normal here :) James can write his name completely by himself now :) Joshua is still doing pretty good with the potty training. I had a weird dream the other night that Jonathan was walking around like a pro and singing his ABC's but he's not really there yet :) Still crawling along and eating like a horse without gaining any weight. Looks like he takes after Grandpa Strong ;) A couple of weeks ago he took a faceplant into the back of a large lego. He still has the scar.
